EXANI-II by CENEVAL is a standardized admissions assessment used by universities across Mexico to evaluate applicants to undergraduate programs. Developed by CENEVAL (Centro Nacional de Evaluación para la Educación Superior), the exam measures core academic competencies—such as critical reading, mathematical reasoning, written communication, and information analysis—alongside a field-specific diagnostic module aligned to the candidate’s intended area of study (for example, engineering and technology, social sciences and humanities, natural and health sciences, or business and administration).

EXANI-II is administered in Spanish under secure, proctored conditions, either computer-based or on paper, depending on the institution. Results are reported on standardized scales to support fair, comparable, and data-driven admission and placement decisions.
